You're islanders. You've been pressed into the navy of one of the Imperial Powers, voyaging out of your beloved archipelago to the farthest ends of the world and back -- and to your shock, you've actually survived years of rum, sodomy, and the lash.
You even... kind of like your captain?? So when he decides to defy his orders, abscond with the ship, and go treasure-hunting, you go with him.
